**The Role - Multi Skilled Engineer (Mechanical)

Carry out maintenance, repairs, testing and inspection of building, mechanical and electrical services, associated systems, plant, and equipment in accordance with relevant standards and operational procedures.

Participate in a rotating shift pattern and the out of hours on call rota, to provide a 24/7/365 service.

Provide cover for absent colleagues as appropriate to maintain the service

Carry out duties in accordance with safe working practices within company guidelines.

Be able to maintain, service and repair a wide range of the building services listed below.

  • Heating and hot water services
  • Cold water systems
  • Building drainage & sanitary systems
  • Air conditioning plant and associated systems
  • Electrical distribution systems and switchgear
  • Emergency lighting systems (battery)
  • Electrical control systems
  • Monitoring a Building Management System
  • Building security
  • Building fabric
**Duties/Key Responsibilities

  • Carry out planned maintenance as per the PPM schedule and maintain records and complete service reports as appropriate.
  • Carry out installation work involved in minor upgrading and adaptation works.
  • Assist other skilled trades in carrying out maintenance, repairs, testing, inspection, and installation work.
  • Where instructed, carry out minor repairs to the building fabric to ensure the safety and security of the premises.
  • Undertake training to maintain and develop skills in line with the requirements of the service & job role.
  • Collaborate and cooperate with partners and colleagues to deliver a customer focused service.
  • Undertake overtime as required to maintain the service and oversee external provider works.
  • Work closely with the Helpdesk to ensure jobs raised on the Qfm system are closed correctly and timely.
  • Be responsible for the cleanliness and safety of a company vehicle.
  • Carry out any other duties as required commensurate with the role.
Skills Required

  • Relevant qualification / apprenticeship, in any of the listed criteria.
  • Repair, diagnosis, and maintenance / servicing, of heating / plumbing systems, experience dealing with breakdowns, servicing, and installations.
  • Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
  • Ability to record accurately all works carried out
  • Able to participate in the oncall Rota system.
  • Skilled in the use of handheld devises / laptop
  • Willing to support other roles to cover absence.
  • Experience working in educational or public buildings
  • Experience of Microsoft packages
  • Practical knowledge of Statutory compliance requirements
  • Able to manage own workload and prioritise where necessary
  • Satisfactory DBS clearance at enhanced level.
  • Highly organised & Selfmotivated
  • Proactive / problem solving
- knowledge of Health & Safety

  • Full Driving License
  • Working knowledge of SFG20
  • Understanding of a BMS systems
