    Service Engineer

    Location: Hull

    Salary: £37,000 - £40,000

    Summit Selection are delighted to be working with one of Yorkshire's leading engineering companies who specialise in multiple engineering sectors ranging from compressors, pumps, pneumatics and HVAC who are looking to recruit an experienced Service Engineer in Hull.

    Job Overview

    The Service Engineer will perform maintenance and operational tasks on compressed air equipment (all types of air compressors, refrigerated dryers and ancillary equipment) in a reliable, safe, efficient manner, and in accordance with group policies, practices and standards. Properly maintain and complete maintenance records, service reports and other required documents as per company guidelines. Proper use of PPE, vehicles, tools and equipment is required.

    Primary Role

    • Perform preventative maintenance, troubleshoot and repair, and overhaul various types of compressors/air treatment and ancillary equipment following manufacturer's instructions and/or company polices.
    • Demonstrate & work with an understanding of compressors and air treatment.
    • Ability to read, interpret and understand manufacturers' equipment manuals and drawings.
    • Responsible for reporting daily updates of workload, additional work required, submitting accurate maintenance reports and ongoing events to the service team.
    • Responsible for returning parts, accurately filling job sheets and time sheets using company software.
    • Demonstrate proficiency in accurately and efficiently diagnosing and repairing mechanical problems on multiple compressor systems within own capabilities and training matrix.
    • Knowledge of compressor technologies & comprehensive mechanical & diagnostic skills.
    • Dedicated to customer service, maintain professional working relationships with customers and co-workers; aligned with the group's ethos and reputation.
    • Assist with on call support on a Rota basis including contributing reasonable overtime.
    • Follow all Health, Safety & Environmental procedures in accordance with group & customer's policies.
    • Maintain company property to high standards including reporting of defects not limited to company vehicles, equipment and workspace.
    • A full and clean driving license is essential for the role.
    • Maintain conduct on/off site reflecting the group image in a professional manner.

    Skills Required

    • NVQ 3 or above in multiskilled mechanical or electrical maintenance discipline
    • F gas certification beneficial
    • Experience in compressed air, vacuum, refrigeration industry advantageous.
    • Proven experience in a Service & Maintenance role minimum of 2 years.
    • Good IT skills.
    • Full clean UK driving licence.
    • Ability to work under own supervision.
    • Good organisational and time management skills, with strong customer service skills.
    • Strong familiarity with various motor starters e.g. DOL, Star delta, inverter drives.
    • Understanding of pneumatic systems and components.
    • Knowledge of various mechanical assemblies and drive systems.

    Working Hours

    Monday to Friday 8:00AM - 4:30PM (40 workings hours)
