We are currently recruiting experienced band 5 nurses in a number of areas: Neurosciences and Critical Care and Theatres.

Nurses who are new to Neurosciences will be supported by experienced mentors and have the opportunity to attend our established New to Neurology or new to Neurosurgery programmes.

We also have a highly dedicated team of Clinical Practice Facilitators who will be there to support your learning every step of the way.

Working at the National will enable you to work side by side with a truly multidisciplinary team who have highly specialised knowledge in their fields.

We are committed to supporting you through ward-based placements and Rotation programmes. We also have opportunities to study for a specialist nursing qualification with London South Bank University.

To work according to the NMC Code of Professional Conduct and relevant professional guidelines as a named nurse or key worker (with facilitation) for a defined group of patients and take responsibility for:

Protecting and supporting the health of individual patients and clients
Assessment of care and health education needs
Development, implementation and evaluation of programmes of care including discharge planning for each patient

Under supervision, to gain experience and skills in:

Clinical practice
Facilitation and teaching
Management (as appropriate)
To work in accordance with UCLH Nursing and Midwifery Strategy and Core Standards and contribute towards achieving the Trust's "Top 10" Objectives
To maintain effective communication
To provide a high standard of holistic patient-centred care
To take charge of the ward/department in the absence of senior nursing staff following performance review against the agreed KSF outline and progression through the first gateway

On the day you will be Interviewed if successful will get to do a Drug Calculation and Written Scenario assessment on the day.
