SEN Teaching Assistant

SEN Teaching Assistant required at an SEMH School - Level 2 or 3 TA preferred - Ely, Cambridgeshire - Up to £95 per day based on experience - Immediate and September starts available
Are you a dedicated and experienced Level 2 or 3 Teaching Assistant with a passion for supporting students with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs?


Tradewind are proud to be supporting a wonderful SEMH School based in Ely, Cambridgeshire, who are seeking enthusiastic and dedicated SEN Teaching Assistants to join their school either immediately or from September.

This school caters for boys aged years who have EHCP's in place, and you will play a key role in improving the quality of their educational journeys.


SEN Teaching Assistant at SEMH School:

  • located in Ely, Cambridgeshire**
    Previous experience as a SEN Teaching Assistant required, Level 2 or 3 TA preferred

Long term role starting immediately or from September Up to £95 per day DoE

Part time and full time roles available


As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will support boys aged 5-16 years old, each with their unique needs related to anxiety, low self-esteem, anger management difficulties, and attachment disorders.

Your role will revolve around creating a safe and supportive environment, helping students regulate their emotions, and assisting in their social integration.

Your role will be critical in providing a calm and structured environment while implementing behaviour management strategies to ensure the well-being and safety of all students.

The key requirements for this role are:
  • Experienced Teaching Assistant, Level 2 or 3 Teaching Assistant Qualification preferred
  • Prior experience in supporting students with SEMH needs such as anxiety, selfregulation difficulties, social integration issues, and behaviour management
  • Empathy, patience, and understanding of the challenges faced by students with SEMH needs
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Adaptability and resilience, capable of adjusting their approach to meet the everchanging needs of the students
