What sets XDP aside from other delivery companies is the fact that we operate our own logistics network of over 35 UK overnight parcel depots & 15 2-man depots.
Our 9-acre central distribution site is well positioned in the heart of the Midlands, operating a manual sortation system with a capacity to handle in excess of 40,000 parcels per night.

Purpose of the role
:
- Expectation as a member of the XDP Operations Team is to maximise and review the company trunking schedule/ structure with a view to making change to best serve the customer ensuring effective fleet utilisation to achieve key business objectives using best practice techniques and processes
Deliverables:
- Development and delivery of transportation strategies, considering efficiencies and safety, prioritising, and coordinating workloads

Experience:
- At least 5 years' experience in a planning management/ transport planning role
- Ability to produce and update regular reports and statistics with a view to implementing change where applicable
- Experience of working with Transport Management Systems
- Maintaining of accurate records
- Planning repairs and routine maintenance
- Periodic inspections of vehicle and driver records
- Understanding customer requirements
- Maximisation of loads/ utilisation/ capacity planning
- Experience of working within budgetary constraints
- Driver interaction (briefing and debrief)
- Working within budget parameters
Other Significant Role Requirements:
- CPC National (Minimum)
- IOSH (Managing Safely)) ensuring all H&S regulations are always adhered to
- Full understanding of current legislation and policies
- Dealing with VOSA (Advantage)
- Sound geographical knowledge
Role Profile
Scope of Role:
- Direct, coordinate, plan and oversee tasks and operations within an organisation involving transportation
Technical Knowledge:
- Check driving licences and ensure Company drivers and Agency drivers are compliant and legal to drive within the scope of the conditions of the Insurance
People Management:
- Management and Leadership qualification desirable
