Working with our client, a world-class manufacturing company, AQUMEN Recruitment is looking tp hire an experienced Engineer Manager/Maintenance Manager for their Pocklington site.

As Engineering Manager/Maintenance Manager you will oversee a team of skilled Maintenance Engineers, ensuring that their work is of the highest standard and carried out as efficiently and effectively as possible, minimising the loss of production whereverpossible.

Health & Safety on this site is paramount as the successful Engineering Manager/Maintenance Manager will be working on a COMAH site.


  • Be responsible for the management of all maintenance activities on site through effective planned/preventive maintenance routines and timely response to unplanned breakdowns.
  • Support overall equipment effectiveness (OEE) by proactively working to improve plant reliability and availability.
  • Ensure compliance with, and enforcement of, all relevant safety procedures, safe systems of work and regulatory requirements, such as control of contractors, work permits and change management.
  • Focus on maintaining a hygienic, clean and safe working environment using '5S' methodology.
  • Manage and control technical data ensuring that up to date documentation is available and appropriately maintained. This includes, but is not limited to, Piping & Instrumentation Diagrams (P&ID's), Electrical and Instrumentation diagrams, site plans, equipmentmanuals, specifications etc.
  • It is a formal requirement of this role to be the Nominated Person in Control of an Electrical Installation (NPCEI).
  • Manage the sites functional safety systems, in accordance to IEC 61511 as detailed within the Company Functional Safety Competency Framework.
  • Degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering.
  • Understanding of IEC 61511 life cycle, to undertake specific responsibilities detailed in Yara Functional Safety Competency Framework.
  • Experience of COMAH (Control of Major Accident Hazards) Regulations is highly desirable.
  • Understanding and experience of PLC's and pneumatics is highly desirable
  • Able to produce, read and interpret electrical schematics, P&ID's and engineering drawings.
  • Highly organized, with the ability to effectively prioritise and plan the workload of self and others.
  • Strong people skills able to lead, motivate and develop others, and able to build professional relationships with internal colleagues and external stakeholders.
