We have an exciting opportunity to join a global organisation within the automotive industry as an
IT Data Engineer.

Our client is a global organisation and world leading provider of innovative technologies to the automotive sector operating in over 24 countries.

The primary focus of the role is to support the business in achieving true business value from the data available.

It will involve working closely with the business to understand their requirements and to implement these into data solutions.

The responsibilityranges from building new pipelines of data into the data warehouse to creating enhanced data visualisations using Power BI to exploit this data.

This also offers opportunities to support the business users in creating their own self-service analysis as wellas using advanced analytical techniques to find hidden details within the data.

Duties and responsibilities of the IT Data Engineer

Design and build dashboards and data visualisations through Power BI dashboards presenting information to the business users
Support the business in clarifying their requirements on data, analytics, data quality and selfservice analytics
Analyse and monitor the completeness and consistency of data in databases and or data warehouse to align with the business needs and create adhoc datasets to support business decisions
Identify and explore underlying data issues
Facilitate training and development of users in ondemand access and analysis
Develop and support ETL pipelines feeding the data warehouse
Keep a strong link with the central BI/Data COE and contribute to create and maintain enterprisewide standards, processes, and data systems
Support the process analytics team in creating data models in the Celonis platform that create digital twins of our business processes for analysis

Qualifications and education requirements for the IT Data Engineer

Bachelor's degree in the business information management, computer science, or a comparable course of studies.
Upwards of 2 years' experience in Business Intelligence & Data Engineering
Experience in SQL, Extract Transform Load (ETL) methodologies and working with databases
Strong knowledge of data analysis / SQL (Azure Synapse SQL Pool, Azure database)
Strong working knowledge of Power BI

Expected skills & competencies for the IT Data Engineer

Experience with data analysis and turning data into insights
Keen eye for detail
Excellent analytical skills and problemsolving skills
Strong interpersonal, communication and issue resolution skills
Fluent in English, written and verbal.
Experience working with data integration from ERP systems such as SAP.
Experience of working with the data warehouse acceleration tool "WhereScape Red".
Experience in technologies such as Azure Data Factory, Snowflake
Team player comfortable leading key account relationships
Exceptional judgement knowing when to escalate and when to deal with an issue directly
Curious, enquiring mind, understanding and appreciation of the commercial and strategic mix and commercial acumen.
