Job Title: Head of QA

Location: Woking (Hybrid: 3 days remote, 2 days in-office)

Salary: £80,000 per annum

The Head of QA will play a pivotal role in ensuring the quality of our client's software solutions. Working closely with the SLT and MLT, as well as developers and project management, you will use SAFE agile methodology and industry-standard processes to guarantee our client's products meet customer requirements.

Your Responsibilities:

• Fully own and be accountable for the software quality of internally developed solutions.
• Provide and drive a framework for QA Test signoff for releases from the agile delivery capability.
• Continue to define and evolve QA Test processes, procedures, tools, and techniques.
• Maintain and continuously define QA teams' metrics and measures.
• Establish and extend non-functional testing capability and processes across products.
• Own the long-term vision and execution of automation capabilities and regression targets.
• Perform regular one-on-one team management and formal performance reviews.
• Foster and mentor QA team members.
• Drive a continued quality mindset and responsibility within the business.
• Co-ordinate with project stakeholders to deliver assigned testing requirements.
• Review processes, bugs & defects, and live issues to improve test processes.
• Ensure accurate QA estimates for agile delivery projects and enhancements.
• Keep QA teams' tools and techniques up to date and in line with industry best practices.
• Standardize processing, reporting, techniques, and tools across all testing teams.
• Promote the QA Test strategy and its policies and procedures within teams.
• Create, update, and communicate plans for non-BAU QA Test team activity.
• Occasional potential travel to customer sites, including overseas travel.
• Any other duties as and when required.

Qualifications & Skills You'll Need:

• Degree qualified or equivalent professional qualification.
• Minimum seven years' experience in application testing.
• Minimum three years' experience in people/team management.
• Preferred experience in the "Fintech" industry and/or comprehensive payments knowledge.
• Demonstrable Senior Test Management background and experience.
• Teamwork and motivation skills.
• Organization and delegation skills.
• Forward planning and strategic thinking.
• Problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
• Effective communicator with technical and non-technical teams.
• Practical experience of test levels, phases, design, planning, and execution.
• Test automation framework experience, such as Selenium or related.
• Ability to review non-functional test artefacts and processes.
• Technical testing experience of software solutions based on Windows & Linux Server platforms and Azure DevOps.
• Experience with Atlassian tools, e.g., JIRA, XRAY.
• Experienced in backend testing of data processing applications.
• Problem-solving and analytical attitude.
• Up-to-date knowledge of industry testing methods and techniques.
• Working knowledge of Release Management methodologies.
• Practical and technical experience of IDEs and test automation, e.g., C#.
• Awareness of application security and vulnerabilities.
