Hours per week: 44 hour per week.
Hours: 7am to 5pm Monday to Thursday, 7am to 1pm on Friday.

Client Summary:
Leading manufacturer and front line supplier of powertrain products based in the UK and Ireland. Areas of expertise include Engine Overhaul, final Drive Overhaul and locomotive refurbishment.
Position Summary:
The role of the Electrician/Harness builder is to ensure that all the engine rafts are manufactured/repaired in accordance with current drawing/instruction to a high standard.
Key accountabilities:
- To manufacture conduit and concentric layered harnesses.
- To repair parts and equipment when needed.
- To inspect and repair harnesses, control cabinets and electrical items of train power packs and transmissions.
- To order parts and equipment as necessary.
- To identify repairs required via unfair wear and tear and advise the Electrical Team Leader.
- To undertake training as and when required.
- To work within a realistic timeframe.
- To have good knowledge of automotive electrical systems and manufacturing harnesses.
- To work to, and support, all relevant 5S activities.
- To ensure that standard preventive measure is applied when maintenance is done on all electrical equipment.
- To ensure that waste is disposed of in the correct manner.
- To mentor trainees / apprentices when applicable.
- To follow written or verbal instruction.
Person Profile/Experience:
- The ability to work within a changing environment, working to deadlines and short lead times.
- To always adhere to the company's Health, Safety & Environmental instructions and requirements.
- To take on any other reasonable responsibilities or tasks that are within the employee's skills and abilities
Qualifications/Education required:
- NVQ Level 3 Electrical Engineering or higher or working towards
- Preferred
- Previous experience in rail or automotive industry
