Burton.


Shifts:
Days only.

Payrate:
£17 per hour (PAYE) / £21.74 per hour (umbrella)
Hours per week: 44 hour per week.
Hours: 7am to 5pm Monday to Thursday, 7am to 1pm on Friday.

Duration:
Contract, 3 Months +

Client Summary:
Leading manufacturer and front line supplier of powertrain products based in the UK and Ireland. Areas of expertise include Engine Overhaul, final Drive Overhaul and locomotive refurbishment.

Position Summary:


The role of the Electrician/Harness builder is to ensure that all the engine rafts are manufactured/repaired in accordance with current drawing/instruction to a high standard.


Key accountabilities:

  • To manufacture conduit and concentric layered harnesses.
  • To repair parts and equipment when needed.
  • To inspect and repair harnesses, control cabinets and electrical items of train power packs and transmissions.
  • To order parts and equipment as necessary.
  • To identify repairs required via unfair wear and tear and advise the Electrical Team Leader.
  • To undertake training as and when required.
  • To work within a realistic timeframe.
  • To have good knowledge of automotive electrical systems and manufacturing harnesses.
  • To work to, and support, all relevant 5S activities.
  • To ensure that standard preventive measure is applied when maintenance is done on all electrical equipment.
  • To ensure that waste is disposed of in the correct manner.
  • To mentor trainees / apprentices when applicable.
  • To follow written or verbal instruction.

Person Profile/Experience:

  • The ability to work within a changing environment, working to deadlines and short lead times.
  • To always adhere to the company's Health, Safety & Environmental instructions and requirements.
  • To take on any other reasonable responsibilities or tasks that are within the employee's skills and abilities

Qualifications/Education required:

  • NVQ Level 3 Electrical Engineering or higher or working towards
  • Preferred
  • Previous experience in rail or automotive industry
  • Preferred
