Portfolio Description


Following a recent Retender by Gloucester City Council, Colliers have been appointed as the single managing agent for a mixed-use estate which combines Retail, Office space, Leisure, public realm, hotel and car parking facilities.

The managing agents' remit is to put in place an onsite management team structure that will provide onsite delivery with flexibility and high levels of customer service contributing to the vision of a vibrant city centre.

Place activation forms a key part of Colliers strategy to create a desirable destination.

Place activation describes initiatives to best utilise space to enhance experience, drive footfall, engage with local communities and generate complementary income streams to maximise the asset performance.

This could range from organised events, pop up shops, promotions or community activity with associated supported marketing.


Job Description:


Colliers currently has an opportunity for a Place Activation & Marketing Ambassador at a leading retail, office and leisure destination in Gloucester.

This role will offer the successful applicant the opportunity to contribute to re-imagining the estate, focusing on enlivening central spaces to drive footfall, improve the visitor experience and to develop partnerships with small businesses, charities and community groups.

The enlivenment and commercial activation of a newly developed public space is also a key aspect of this role.


Working under the direction of Senior Destination Manager and the Place Activation Manager, the position will focus on executing the place activation strategy which includes improving income generation, executing a calendar of events/ brand activations, and driving social value initiatives.

The successful applicant will work as part of a wider team and be required to continually improve place activation performance through the implementation of specific objectives and initiatives set out in the place activation plan and to act as an ambassador for the Colliers & Client brand values at all times.


Main Responsibilities

  • Contribute to the preparation of the Estate place activation plan and ensure specific asset objectives and initiatives are implemented as agreed with the Place Activation Manager.
  • Identify and forge relationships with key stakeholders such as the business Improvement district, local schools/colleges, community groups and charities to champion activation.
  • Implement measurable social value, promoting and showcasing local community causes throughout the estate
  • Demonstrate entrepreneurial spirit, identifying new business opportunities and under the direction of the Place Activation Manager, develop income generating commercial opportunities for mid mall retailing, pop up shop opportunities and general brand activation opportunities throughout the estate, overseeing operators to ensure alignment with the estates brand values.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of marketing activities to promote the estate as a destination for a diverse range of audiences and provide content for website, social channels and PR opportunities to the marketing agency.
  • Manage the planning and delivery of events, programming and general place activation throughout the estate.
  • Build a database of suppliers, key service partners for commercialisation and community engagement activations

Qualifications:


  • Educated to GCSE standard or relevant qualification.

Key Skills
Commercial Awareness and creative flair
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to communicate with a diverse range of stakeholders
Good presentation and friendly helpful attitude
Awareness and appreciation of customer care
Understanding of Digital marketing and role of social media in retail setting.

Ability to analysis data set with computer literacy (All Microsoft Office packages)
Can work unsupervised but also work well as a team member
Excellent organisational skills, attention to detail and accuracy
