    Our client is a global leader in its field, with a keen focus on sustainability. The Midlands site is one of its flagship operations, with a long and strong track record in providing services to a range of customers, including some of the biggest brands in food, healthcare and hospitality. With a strong management team in place, it now seeks to strengthen its leadership team with the appointment of a General Manager.

    This is a business in which hard work, humility and resilience are not only valued but essential. You will be driven and motivated, able to work at pace, while possessing the confidence to ask for support and consensus when you need it. You'll have the ability to move seamlessly between Board meetings, in which you're analysing and discussing your P&L to the nth degree, and the operational shop floor, where you'll be discussing maintenance schedules for capital equipment. You're used to being across the detail without getting involved in every little thing, supporting your team to make the right decisions. People matter to you, both in terms of their safety and their career development.

    You should be able to demonstrate sound commercial acumen and a successful track record in an equivalent position within a similar industry. You will have experience in a manufacturing or processing environment and should be very comfortable with operational systems and processes, including effective logistics. You will have consistently delivered profitable growth in a demanding business environment.

    You should be qualified to degree level or equivalent and will demonstrate experience of driving performance in a similar role, where high customer service levels are essential to ensure continued success
