We require a DevOps Release Engineer to cover an existing workload within a major police force, based in Empress State Building (Hybrid working).

MUST HOLD IN DATE CTC CLEARANCE IN ORDER TO APPLY FOR POSITION.
This is an interim position for 6 months with the potential to be extended, dependent on workload.

Role Purpose:

The principal skill set will be focussed on Linux in a hybrid cloud infrastructure based mainly upon opensource technologies.
This initiative is focused on improving and extending the use of IT within the MPS including making mobile devices available to front line Officers and enabling CONNECT integrations, C&C integrations and MetIP 2.0 upgrade projects.

Skills required to be successful in the role:

Hands-on experience automating on-premises virtualisation platforms.
General experience of CI build and release management, quality assurance, automated testing (e.g. ServerSpec, RSpec) and change control.
Experience with OS provisioning, software installation and configuration management using modern configuration and orchestration tools on complex environments this includes tools such as Puppet.
Effective triage and fault diagnosis by escalating/liaising with stakeholders until resolved.
CISCO networking equipment, Routers/Switches/Firewalls
Nexus. ASA
Ubuntu Server and OpenStack experience will be of significant benefit.

This role offers a competitive salary of
£650 per day Umbrella (Outside IR35)and you'll be working via
