- Day to day, you will use your skills to design, plan and conduct research into what people need from our website and online services.
- You will take a lead role in promoting the value of user research and regularly lead sessions across the organisation to improve understanding of this area.
- It will be your responsibility to ensure that users with a range of needs are engaged in user research and testing.
- You will be required to choose appropriate research methodologies.
- When required, you will present research findings, insights and recommendations back to stakeholders.
- Working with our team of content designers, you will plan content to meet agreed user stories and acceptance criteria.
- We require you to have relevant degree level qualification or equivalent professional experience.
- It is key that you have worked in a collaborative way with content designers, business analysts, and IT development
teams. - You must be able to demonstrate your experience of using web analytics and data insights to support your work.
- You will have experience and knowledge of applying qualitative and quantitative user research methods.
- Given the nature of the role, you should understand the diversity of users of government services and designing appropriate research activities to capture their needs.
- You will have knowledge of the Government Digital Service (GDS) standards.

As our user researcher you will make a difference by being responsible for devising and conducting an ongoing programme of user experience and research activities to support the council's digital transformation, making it more customer-centric.
