The Vice President, PGIM Government Affairs is responsible for planning, representing, and executing PGIM's European government relations strategies.
She/he will represent the Company's interests on cross-border priority public policy, regulatory and legislativeissues.

The incumbent will also be an integral member of the team in representing PGIM's interests with key third parties such as industry, associations, think tanks, non-governmental organizations, etc.

This position reports to PGIM's Vice President andHead of Government Affairs.


Responsibilities:


  • In collaboration with PGIM senior leaders and affiliates, establishes the strategic direction for PGIM European public policy, its nexus with American and other international regulatory regimes.
  • Routinely works with policy makers, legislators, regulators, major industry trade associations and peer companies to promote PGIM public policy goals.
  • Leads and executes PGIM specific public policy advocacy strategy and tactics
  • Builds and expands trusted and constructive relationships with vital senior public officials (e.g., European Commission, Council, Parliamentary officials, ESMA, central bankers)
  • Coordinates and helps execute PGIM's European ESG related public policy and regulatory advocacy strategies and tactics.
  • Generates and coordinates thought leadership and engagement opportunities for PGIM senior leaders and SMEs
  • Provides expert political and policy insights to aid PGIM's senior leaders in making informed investment decisions and shares regulatory perspectives with key clients and prospects as appropriate.
  • Effectively leads and coordinates key public official relationships and contacts across PGIM to better leverage opportunities and drive positive outcomes
  • Partners with legal and other functional partners to maximize PGIM's impact with industry associations and organizations.

Qualifications:


  • A minimum of five years of relevant government affairs experience in the financial services (ideally asset management) industry (ESG experience a plus)
  • Knowledge of EU and U.K. governance and policymaking process
  • Demonstrated substantive policy experience in key asset management public policy and regulatory issue areas, with a global mindset given PGIM's presence across multiple geographies
  • Deep and trusted relationships across critical external stakeholders including policy makers, regulators, industry and NGOs
  • Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to establish rapport and credibility with key individuals and to build, maintain and leverage a broad network of contacts
  • Have presence and an ability to effectively interact with business and corporate partners, senior executives, and leading public policy leaders with diplomacy and candor.
  • Must have a keen sense of interpersonal dynamics and ability to read the room and react/adjust according to audience.
  • Must be a strategic thinker/planner and creative problem solver with demonstrated ability to conceive and execute plans/proposals
  • Superior leadership skills, with the ability to drive initiatives across internal and external stakeholders
  • Superior analytical, written, and verbal communication skills
  • Strong commitment to teamwork with proven ability to work collaboratively across team, departmental and industry boundaries
  • Strong organizational skills. Able to manage multiple long and short
- term projects with overlapping deadlines

  • Highly selfmotivated work ethic, must demonstrate sound judgement, trustworthiness, initiative, and an ability to manage multiple issues with a sense of urgency
  • Government or similar experience is desired
  • Undergraduate degree required and graduate degree desired
