This is a peripatetic role where teaching takes place during the school day, after school and at the weekend, at various?schools and music centres in Surrey.

Surrey Arts?is the lead youth music organisation in Surrey, and we provide music lessons, instrument hire, out of school music centres, activities, and ensembles for young people.


About the role


This is an exciting opportunity for a?Guitar and Ukulele Instrumental Teacher?to join our talented team of experienced and committed teaching staff.

Across 33 weeks of the academic year, you will deliver?high quality and innovative music education?to childrenand adults at various schools and venues around the county.


In this role, you will be supported by a team of Administrators and an Area Manager to organise your schedule and timetables.

You will also be provided with annual paid CPD and training opportunities. Our hourly rate of pay ranges from?£26.54 to £27.16 perhour for individual/group lessons (depending on experience).

About you
To be considered for interview, your?personal statement?will clearly evidence:?

  • Specialist music knowledge and experience related to your instrument(s) and performing or creating music to a high standard
  • Experience of working with children and young people in school, youth, or community settings in the UK
  • Experience of managing the learning of small and large groups, or a willingness to try
  • Experience of building strong relationships with students, parents, schools, and colleagues
  • Strong IT and administration skills
  • Ability and willingness to travel.

An Enhanced DBS 'Disclosure and Barring Service' check for regulated activity (formerly known as CRB) and the Children's Barred List check will be required for this role.
