The Role
Responsibilities:
Ensure accurate estimates and tenders are produced in a timely and professional manner
(Mechanical Division)
Estimate all jobs within the agreed contract performance targets in line with the company's pricing guidelines, working closely with senior management and producing regular updates
Work with all sub-contractors to ensure we are provided with accurate and timely quotes in line with the agreed contract performance targets
Conduct research for and prepare coherent, cost effective and profitable bids / tenders
Ensure that produced quotes are market competitive and represent value for money
Conduct benchmarking evaluation on tenders received
Submit internal tender analysis prior to submission for sign off
Prepare tender submission in line with the client specification and evaluation
Maintain tracker for all projects from estimate stage throughout the project life cycle
Work closely with the project managers for project updates on live works in terms of programme, cost, revenue and risk
Meet with customers to ensure we are quoting exactly what the customer wants and to advise the customer on the most cost effective options to meet their requirements - both informally and formal tender presentations
Prepare monthly statistics
Understand and complete all work related documentation accurately and on time
Understand and comply with policies and procedures
Mitigate risk to the business
Carry out work in a safe and diligent manner
Comply with all Health and Safety policies and procedures
Attend and fully participate in training and appraisal activities as required
Maintain the company's confidential information policy
Qualifications & Experience
Degree in Mechanical/Electrical/Building Services Engineering or equivalent
Technically competent with a good understanding of mechanical and electrical installation methods and pricing
Must have minimum 5 years Mechanical Estimating experience, preferably with experience working on projects worth over £5mln or more
Understanding of construction methods
Strong mathematical and IT skills
Microsoft Excel, Word, Power Point, Bill soft and estimate
Attention to detail
Full confidence in accuracy of estimates/tenders produced
Ability to prioritise and handle multiple tasks at the same time
Ability to work as part of a team
You must be elgible to live and work in the UK.
