JOB TITLE:
Project Buyer (12 month contract)


LOCATION:
Chard, Somerset


SALARY:
Competitive salary based on experience.


HOURS:37.5 hours, Monday to Thursday 8am - 5pm and Friday 8am - 12:30pm

THE ROLE:

As the Project Buyer you will be accountable for Sourcing and Procurement within the company and reporting in to the Procurement Manager Leader.


KEY DUTIES:


  • Delivering a procurement service that supports the needs of the business.
  • Managing and measuring external Supplier / Supply Chain performance escalating any risks which will impact the Business.
  • Taking relevant actions to protect the company against unfavourable market trends.
  • Deliver the Procurement budget by achieving cost reductions; input to tenders and support the tender review process ensuring any risks to product costs are quantified and communicated to stakeholders.
  • Defining and leading local commodity strategy.

THE CANDIDATE:


Seeking a dynamic individual who can drive procurement strategy for the best benefits of the business and achieve cost reduction to increase contract margins.

You will play an integral role in the overall operation of the business and therefore you willneed to be a team player who can build good working relationships giving clear presentations of detailed information at all levels in the business.

Ideally, you will have worked in a Procurement function before, preferably in a manufacturing environment andhave working knowledge of ERP systems.
