    ***************Steelwork Supervisor*****************

    To supervise the manufacture, construction and site installation (when required) of steel structures ensuring, the most effective utilisation of all resources and a safe working environment at all times, and to complete all operations to the required quality standards, delivery schedule and cost targets.

    • Develop the short-term (1 week look-ahead) schedule of work for own team
    • Prepare written method statements and plans to perform site operations
    • Ensure information, materials, tools, equipment and labour are appropriately available and assigned, and site plant is safe and properly employed and maintained
    • Provide guidance and support on job methods to operators as necessary e.g. job guidance sheets and sketches, based on knowledge of shop and site requirements
    • Prepare Lifting Plans and co-ordinate heavy lifting activities on site as an Appointed Person
    • Survey and report on dimensional control using 3D Total Station
    • Co-ordinate all aspects of steelwork manufacture and construction i.e. preparation, outfit steel, fabrication, blocking and erection, including welding at all stages
    • Ensure all operations are carried out to the required internal and external quality standards, and that the contract specification is fully complied with
    • Control and monitor site plant and equipment, ensuring that there is a safe working environment at all times, and that site operations, are fully compliant with all HSAW regulations
    • Deputise for the Project Manager on site during his absence
    • Supervise recovery actions to ensure performance, cost and schedule targets are met
    • Follow-up on progress and ensure that feedback information supports the management system, including performance and generation of variation orders
    • Liase directly with Client management representatives, Engineers, HSE or HSA inspectors, and classification society surveyors as required
    • Ensure that all necessary and essential documentation and records are, completed, properly maintained and retained for future reference.
    Qualifications
    • Relevant experience in a similar industry
    • Experience managing/supervising a team
    • Excellent organisational skills
    • Ability to work to tight deadlines
