To provide a high quality, accessible and professional counselling service for our College Students aged
You will maintain accurate and confidential records of client counselling and own supervision sessions and interventions in line with BACP guidelines and with respect to the College's Child Protection and Safeguarding Policy.
To provide 'drop in' sessions on a weekly basis.
To liaise with the H&W Manager regarding referrals, waiting lists and appointment uptake, putting forward recommendations for adjustment where necessary.
Make referrals or support self-referrals, where appropriate and with the student's consent, to other College support and external organisations and agencies.
Liaise, where appropriate and with the student's consent, with members of College staff.
Be vigilant of trends and patterns of problems and be willing to identify causes and recommend actions to the H&W Manager.
Work as part of the H&W Team to promote the service and help run initiatives with the team to promote healthy body and mind to students including input into bulletins and newsletters and involvement in student events, such as Wellbeing Week, Taster Days and Open Evenings.
To provide termly and annual summary reports in relation to counselling provision and carry out other administrative tasks associated with the counselling service.
To ensure regular clinical supervision sessions are undertaken and uphold good practice as described by the BACP/UKCP ethical guidelines.
To maintain a professional approach and operate within the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy Code or Ethics with reference to Supervision and Confidentiality and record keeping in line with GDPR.
To report any clinical concerns to the H&W Manager and/or Safeguarding Team.
Be responsible for identifying own professional development needs to maintain and update knowledge through continuing professional development.
Such other duties as reasonably requested, including support of the wider Health & Wellbeing Team.
Maintain a high level of knowledge and awareness of changes and developments in the fields of counselling and education and their impact on the delivery of counselling.
Operate at all times from an inclusive values base, which recognises and respects diversity.
