    Job summary

    We are recruiting for a Waiting List Officer - Surgical Admissions who shares our vision to be trusted to provide consistently outstanding care and exemplary service to our patients.

    The Waiting List Team book all elective surgery for our patients, ensuring that waiting times are fair and equitable and in order of clinical urgency.

    Our aim is to fully utilise our operating theatre lists which is one of our most valuable resources.

    You will join a team of Waiting List Officers within the Planned Care Division at the East & North Herts NHS Trust in Stevenage.

    We are looking for applicants with strong administrative and organisational skills as well as the ability to work within a team but using own initiative when required.

    Main duties of the job

    As well as dealing directly with patients you will also need to liaise closely with surgical, nursing and other staff as well as GP practices and our Independent Sector providers.

    You will be required to deal with waiting lists and admissions for a specific group of patients, work with patient target lists and deal with a high volume of telephone calls and enquiries.

  • Previous experience of dealing with the general public, reception and office work.

  • Experience of iPM PAS - Patient Administration System and CIPTS - Theatres System
