About the Role:

We are currently looking for enthusiastic and dedicated Teaching Assistants to join various schools across Stevenage.

As a Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting the delivery of the curriculum alongside the classroom teacher, aiding both individual pupils and groups in their learning processes.


Responsibilities:


  • Assist in preparing the classroom environment, setting up equipment and preparing materials for lessons.
  • Work under the direction of the teacher to support small groups of pupils or individual students to ensure their understanding and progress.
  • Manage pupil behavior in the classroom and on school premises.
  • Provide general support to the teacher in the management of pupils and the classroom.
  • Help with the planning of some lessons.
  • Contribute to the organization of school events and activities.
  • Participate in and support educational outings and visits.

Requirements:


  • Previous experience in a similar role is desirable but not mandatory.
  • A relevant qualification such as NVQ Level 2/3 in Supporting Teaching and Learning in Schools is advantageous.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • A patient and resilient attitude towards working with children and young people.
  • Commitment to supporting inclusive education and awareness of safeguarding and child protection procedures.
  • An Enhanced DBS check is required for this role.
