About the Role:
We are currently looking for enthusiastic and dedicated Teaching Assistants to join various schools across Stevenage.
As a Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting the delivery of the curriculum alongside the classroom teacher, aiding both individual pupils and groups in their learning processes.
Responsibilities:
- Assist in preparing the classroom environment, setting up equipment and preparing materials for lessons.
- Work under the direction of the teacher to support small groups of pupils or individual students to ensure their understanding and progress.
- Manage pupil behavior in the classroom and on school premises.
- Provide general support to the teacher in the management of pupils and the classroom.
- Help with the planning of some lessons.
- Contribute to the organization of school events and activities.
- Participate in and support educational outings and visits.
Requirements:
- Previous experience in a similar role is desirable but not mandatory.
- A relevant qualification such as NVQ Level 2/3 in Supporting Teaching and Learning in Schools is advantageous.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- A patient and resilient attitude towards working with children and young people.
- Commitment to supporting inclusive education and awareness of safeguarding and child protection procedures.
- An Enhanced DBS check is required for this role.
