Role: SEMH Teaching assistant
Salary: £83-£100 per day
Contract:Temp- with potential to go permanent
Location: Gainsborough
Hours: Monday - Friday, 8:30am - 3:30pm
We are recruiting for an experienced Teaching assistant to work in a specialist SEN school, providing educational support to students.
This specialist school provides education and support for pupils aged 7-16 years. The pupils are all identified as having Social, Emotional or Mental Health(SEMH) difficulties, but may also have additional SEN needs. The school's aim is to provide a safe and nurturing environment for all pupils, in which they can learn and develop socially and emotionally.
You will have excellent behaviour management skills as well as patience, empathy and understanding.
THE JOB:
· You will be required to provide either one to one support or small group support to learners with SEMH needs
· Comply with individual EHC Plans
· To take direction from the class teacher and help support
YOU:
· You must be an experienced classroom support assistant with a good level of experience of working with students with SEMH needs
· Be patient and resilient
· Be creative
· Make learning fun
· Excellent communication skills
· Have a therapeutic and holistic approach
· Team Teach trained would be advantageous, although training can be given.
