    About Your New RoleAs part of our growth journey, we are looking for an experienced legal counsel to join our team in house.

    The In-house Legal Counsel will be responsible for providing legal advice to the business on a variety of topics, with a focus on commercial law.

    You will help to protect NQC from legal liability and ensure that our company policies and procedures are in compliance with applicable laws and regulations.

    Key ResponsibilitiesAs the In-house Legal Counsel you will be required to undertake the following responsibilities as part of your day to day activities:Draft and review commercial agreements, including contracts, proposals, and other legal documentsManage the contract process from start to finish, ensuring compliance with commercial law, company policies, procedures and guidelinesWork closely with internal teams to manage, identify and mitigate commercial and legal risks for the businessDevelop and implement company policies and procedures to ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulationsRepresent the business in legal proceedings, as requiredProvide guidance and support to internal stakeholders on commercial contract terms, conditions and obligationsMonitor contract performance to ensure that we meet our contractual obligations and identify opportunities to optimise performanceIdentify and resolve legal and commercial issues that may arise during the course of a contractEnsure compliance with applicable laws and regulations, and update contracts and other legal documents as necessaryProvide ad-hoc legal and admin support and advice to the business as requiredRequirementsTo be successful for this role you will ideally meet these requirementsDemonstrable experience in a similar role, preferably within a SaaS businessStrong knowledge of commercial contract law and practicesExperience with other areas of commercial law, such as corporate law, employment law, and international lawExperience of a broad range of commercial services agreements, within the technology sector would be beneficial but not essentialUniversity degree in Commercial law, Legal studies or other related qualifications (GDL)Excellent communication, negotiation and interpersonal skillsAbility to build relationships at all levels of the business and also challenge and influence where necessaryStrong attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneouslyExcellent time-management and organisational skillsExperience working in a fast-paced, dynamic and highly collaborative environmentAbility to work independently with minimal supervisionKey CompetenciesIs consistently motivated, committed and able to perform duties in all situationsPersuades, influences and listens to others, using reason and co-operation to reach agreementCommunicates and receives ideas, views and information to achieve understandingGathers information from a range of sources.
