    Position: SHEQ Coordinator

    Reports to: Quality & Environmental Manager

    Role Overview: Reporting to the Quality & Environment Manager, the SHEQ Coordinator will drive, support, and advise on Safety, Health, Environment and Quality across a multi-site manufacturing business and to establish, manage, enforce and monitor standards, processes, communications, training and systems to ensure all responsibilities associated with SHEQ across all Cubis sites are adhered to. Based at our Tallington site, the successful candidate will:

    Key Accountabilities:

    • Drive and support operations in ensuring all SHEQ requirements are met.
    • Review, modify and create, as required, risk assessments and safe systems of work; in line with the CRH Life Saving Rules and UK H&S legislation.
    • Work closely with the Health & Safety to deliver and complete statutory notifications to the Health & Safety Authority and all relevant incident or accident reporting.
    • Ensure compliance with H&S policy and procedures
    • Communicate and drive SHEQ awareness
    • Ensure training requirements are met and maintained.
    • Thorough investigation of incidents, injuries and serious near misses and implement corrective actions, working closely with site operations management
    • Operate and control the contractor management system on site
    • Ensure COSHH system management
    • Drive and develop new SHEQ initiatives as part of group projects
    • Conduct internal audits in line with ISO 9001 QMS, 14001 EMS, 45001 SMS and CRH lifesaving rules
    • Ensure training requirements are met and maintained
    • Develop safety, environment, and quality management systems under guidance for the location
    • Contribute to waste management and control and environmental spill control systems
    • Work closely with Quality & Environment manager to ensure robust QMS System is in place and operationally

    Associated Responsibilities:

    • Monthly reporting of SHEQ performance
    • Organisation of SHEQ related training as required
    • Drive a SHEQ culture
    • Ensure that records of statutory inspections and compliance requirements are kept
    • Best practice meeting attendance and implementation
    • Support in the end of year sustainability project & data compilation
    • Support the wider SHEQ team as required

    Experience and Training:

    • Experience in using Microsoft packages, including Access
    • Must be action orientated, resourceful and have the ability to plan and align to business needs.
    • Must also have excellent communication skills and have the ability to collaborate with all stakeholders both internally and externally.

    Essential Criteria:

    • Experience in SHEQ role, within a fast-paced business.
    • NEBOSH General Certificate is essential.
    • Experience in completing risk assessments
    • Experience in internal audits
    • Fire Warden training is desirable
    • Fit Aid training is desirable
