- Overseeing application design, development, and Production Support in new cloud-native application construction
- Collaborating with the IT Technical Architect and IT Cloud Infra Architect to construct and maintain applications in Azure cloud environments
- Working jointly with development teams, Test and Quality, Security, and Design Authority teams to establish and maintain Application development pipelines, ensuring all solutions are Secure by Design and in Practice
- Creating and sustaining documentation for knowledge sharing and training purposes
- Acting as an expert troubleshooter and JAVA SME in Application development and Production Support
- Conducting POCs and feasibility studies to validate next-gen product concepts and technologies to influence business and technology decisions
- Collaborating with the Production Service Manager to handle Production issues
- Staying up to date with evolving technology and gaining expertise in understanding how new technologies could be applied to our Cloud estate
- Demonstrating strong teamwork and effective communication skills with all stakeholders involved
- Technical proficiency in developing E-commerce applications using Java/J2EE and expertise in web services/microservices architecture. Additional familiarity with the following would be advantageous
- Spring framework (Spring Boot, MVC, Dependency Injection, Data Access)
- JDBC, SQL, XML, Junit, LDAP, Active Directory, Eclipse, Subversion, HTML5, CSS3, Bootstrap, Javascript, JQuery, IBM Websphere Application Server / JBOSS / Tomcat and Web Services (HTTP, ReST, JSON, XML)
- Test-Driven / Behaviour-Driven Development methods and frameworks
- CI / CT / DevOps Tools and Technologies
- Comprehensive knowledge of relevant database technologies (DB2, Oracle, SQL Server), performance/clustering/scalability concerns, Data Warehousing and reporting (e.g. Business Objects, Ab-initio, SAS) and Enterprise content management products
- Experience with repositories, code controls, and development tools like JIRA, Confluence, and similar platforms
- Expertise in Application and Web Service security, Identity Management, and Protocols (e.g. OWASP, WS-Security, SAML, OAuth2, OpenID Connect)
- Knowledge of or exposure to Cloud technologies, with a preference for Azure
- Working familiarity with Agile development methodology, SAFe, or SCRUM
- Understanding of established and emerging technologies and their impact on delivering successful business outcomes
