    Electrical Maintenance Technician

    We are looking for an Electrical Maintenance Technician to join our Estates Team based in Coventry.

    The Electrical Maintenance Technician will play a pivotal role in supporting the Maintenance Operations Manager. You will be responsible for carrying out mechanical & electrical preventative and breakdown maintenance, installations on workshop equipment, facility plant and site services.

    Main Responsibilities:

  • To perform daily preventative and Breakdown maintenance activities on workshop and Plant equipment - both mechanical and electrical
  • Carryout Mechanical and electrical Installations, such as new electrical connections for Plant and machinery, commissioning and decommissioning of workshop and plant equipment
  • Work alongside external contractors to ensure machine and facility repairs, renewals and maintenance are carried out in respect to MTC instruction and standards
  • In conjunction with the Health and Safety team review external contractors' health and safety documentation prior to work commencing on site
  • Ensure high standards of housekeeping, work quality and work attitude
  • installation and acceptance of workshop equipment & facility plant on all MTC sites
  • Carry out Fault diagnosis and problem solving on Workshop equipment and Facility Plant
  • Respond to breakdowns & ad-hoc maintenance requests across all sites
  • Produce service reports for all work carried out
  • Support problem solving activities on equipment or system faults
  • Carryout annual services on Facility and workshop equipment
  • Carry out statutory legislative inspections on Plant and Equipment
  • Support the business in meeting it sustainability goals through providing data and technical services for workshop and facility plant where required.
  • Complete required training and development to maintain competent in the role.
  • Using a company mobile phone/Tablet or laptop to log/close and update work orders on a CAFM system
  • Complete required training and development to maintain competent in the role.
  • Liaise with contractors or external suppliers where required and clearly communicate technical issues
  • Produce risk assessments, COSHH assessment and safer operating procedures SOP's for maintenance activities
  • Ensure that work is carried out to a high standard of quality and in line with current legal standards, company policies and procedures.
  • Mentoring apprentices
  • Escorting of contractors when required
  • Person Specification

    Essential Skills/Qualifications/Experience

  • Previous Experience in a Maintenance or M&E role
  • L3 Qualifications in the appropriate maintenance/M&E disciplines
  • IOSH working safely
  • Ability to work at height
  • Full UK Driver's License is essential to the role.
  • Provide standby cover out of hours on a 24/7 rota basis in case of an emergencies and be flexible to provide cover if required for holidays and sickness
  • Willingness to learn and progress in an ever-changing environment
  • Able to read and interpret schematic drawings, electrical & mechanical
  • Desirable Skills/Qualifications/Experience

  • Refrigerant certification/qualification such as FGAS
  • HVAC experience
  • L3 Industrial or Domestic Electrician with Inspection and Testing certification
  • Have knowledge of plumbing, boilers and water treatment systems with the ability to repair and maintain
