    The Opportunity

    We are seeking a Regional Destination Manager to cover a 9-month period of maternity who will take ownership for elevating our Tailormade products, by creating exciting, innovative, destination product strategies that go deep into the countries that we feature, creating inspiring travel memories that lead our guests and members to travel with us again and again.

    Taking particular ownership for the Exotics destination management functions, the Regional Destination Manager will build out and develop product spanning across Asia, in addition to maintaining and continually refreshing Tailormade product, rate structure and supplier relationships through collaboration and leadership of a team of destination managers.

    Responsibilities

  • Creating new and innovative ways to feature and develop countries that speak directly to our different guest and member personas
  • Developing business plans and strategy for new themes and holiday types that cross different regions, leading the relevant Destination Managers to deliver the product requirements and liaising with all the necessary departments to steer the new themes and holiday types to successful launch and ongoing success
  • Working with Destination Managers to ensure consistency across the teams.
  • Ensuring a balanced range of product (taking account of price points, holiday types, guest segment, seasons and source markets), with a core of high volume/high profit alongside niche and differentiated product
  • Managing supplier relationships to include contracting, rate negotiation, exclusive special offers, overrides, marketing agreements and health and safety requirements
  • Working with our partners to ensure service sits at the forefront – technical, aesthetic and emotional execution in destination is paramount
  • Analysing Tailormade performance constantly, looking for opportunities to increase productivity, speed to market, profitability and conversion
  • Offering unique and valuable perspectives on the marketplace
  • Continually collaborating with the Marketing team to ensure product, countries, themes and holiday types are showcased effectively
  • Designing itineraries to make the most of flight routings and schedules, guest budgets, season bands, offers, special events and enriched with unique experiences
  • Website content – guide prices, images, maintaining consistency and quality in written copy and providing accurate and balanced information for guests
  • Market understanding – constantly reviewing and refreshing product and pricing to ensure product is always innovative and well contracted
  • Support SSMs and sales teams with training, cheatsheets, system loading, fam planning, flight routing and pricing, commission/mark up and providing advice
  • Generating content proactively for marketing for digital, print, PR and social media campaigns, ensuring content is achieving the right mix of aspirational and commercial
  • Managing and developing product support where relevant
  • About You

    You will have evidenced the ability to develop a product proposition and ensure its ongoing success through collaborating across a business to drive its marketability and adaptation to the latest industry trends. In particular, you will have a passion and deep knowledge of all things Asia and Exotics.

    Managing a team of Destination Managers, you will also have evidenced an ability to take lead and ensure consistency across a product-function through a combination of your people management and relationship management skills, in addition to commercial acumen, and ability to manage supplier and external relationships.

    Resultingly, the minimum requirements to evidence in your application include:

  • Significant Product Management and Tailormade travel experience
  • Evidenced People Management and Leadership skills
  • Commercial acumen with evidenced experience in managing commercial negotiations
  • Collaborative approach with strong internal and external relationship management skills
  • Forward-thinking approach with the ability to work autonomously
