    About Westbank
    Westbank Community Health and Care is a successful Devon-wide charity based at Exminster. Since 1986, Westbank has helped thousands of people in the local community by enabling them to live fulfilled, healthier, happier lives for longer.

    Westbank's Community Care and Healthy Living Centre premises are in Exminster, which is home to Westbank's award-winning Devon Carers and Young Carer's services and our Volunteering services. The Centre also includes a gym with disabled access equipment, our Kidzone childcare facility, conference and meeting facilities and is the hub for a host of community activities. We also deliver a diabetes prevention programme in Devon alongside several other health and wellbeing initiatives.

    The Role
    Are you passionate about community engagement, culinary arts and creating positive change? We are looking for a creative and driven individual to join our team as a Business Development Lead for our thriving Community Cookery School

    As the Business Development Lead, you will play a crucial role in expanding our reach, fostering partnerships, and driving the growth of our community cookery school. You will be responsible for developing and implementing strategic initiatives to attract new participants, increase revenue streams, and ensure the long-term success of our school.

    This role requires creativity, organization, and a passion for empowering individuals and communities to make healthier food choices. Here is a taster of what your role will include:

    • Develop and implement a comprehensive community cookery school curriculum that addresses the needs and interests of our community;

    • Design engaging and interactive cooking classes, workshops and events promoting healthy eating;

    • Coordinate programme delivery;

    • Build and maintain positive relationships with community members, organisations and local business to promote the cookery school and recruit participants;

    • Manage the cookery school's budget;

    • Order and maintain kitchen supplies, equipment and ingredients;

    • Coordinate volunteers and support staff to assist with program delivery;

    • Develop marketing materials and promotional campaigns to attract commercial clients and increase bookings for facility hire.

    The Person

    • Previous experience/qualifications:

    • Strong culinary skills and knowledge of nutrition principles, dietary guidelines and good safety practices

    • Passion for healthy eating, nutrition and community engagement;

    • Experience of budget management

    • Experience generating commercial income

    • Experience of working with funders

    • An understanding of Volunteer environment

    • Project Management experience

    • Prioritisation
