Job Purpose:

The purpose of the role is to lead on the development and submission of tenders and proposals, working with a range of internal stakeholders and partners to translate organisational information and data into cohesive compelling submissions to enable IMPAKT Housing & Support to develop and expand into new geographical areas.

The role also has responsibility for all aspects of the development of IMPAKT Housing & Support's new business interests including long term income growth, philanthropy, partnerships, communication and new business initiatives.


The duties will include identifying leads, pitching to companies, Not For Profits, government offices and local authorities, building and maintaining strong relationships with new and existing businesses and suppliers, whilst responsible for the overall strategic management and programme development of a portfolio of partnerships.

They will contribute to strategic development and delivery of the organisations Strategic Plan, vision, and values.

  • MAIN DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Lead on preparation of submissions for tenders, contracts, grants, social investment opportunities and awards, coordinating the input of other staff. This will include research, tender & bid writing, collation and completion of supplementary documents, presentation where required, and submission of bids through portals or similar means.
  • Research and identify business and funding opportunities relevant to all areas of our work (including existing and new projects) and evaluate their financial impact on the Organisation.
  • Ensure that business, marketing and program activities meet our Strategic objectives, whilst retaining flexibility to identify potential new areas of development.
  • Responsible for the management of the Community Services Department supporting them to develop and achieve agreed KPIs.
  • Undertake Due Diligence and 'refresh' (where necessary) to ensure that IMPAKT Housing & Support retains eligibility to work with key stakeholders including local authority preferred provider lists.
  • Build and maintain good relationships with funders including Local Authorities, Corporate Businesses, other charities and infrastructure organisation's, attend/host relevant forums, to raise our profile and enable business development.
  • Enable the Organisation to learn from previous experience (internal and external) to expand into new types of work and new geographical areas.
  • Keep abreast of current national and local priorities, trends and legislation and research and make recommendations around potential new delivery models.
  • Establish & implement a prioritisation system to be used in conjunction with the Management Team to: assess opportunities; ensure we pursue the most appropriate funding sources for the most appropriate projects; and assist in workload management.
  • Maintain a working record of all business and program department activities and outcomes, using this to report on business and program KPIs as required.
  • Contribute to the startup, hand over and contract management of successful bids to service delivery and finance teams.
  • Coordinate the regular monitoring and evaluation of current service delivery and relationships with funders, using this information to inform new bids.
  • Coordinate and ensure quality of presentation in funding submissions, evidencebase and reporting across the Organisation.
  • Explore and pursue the possibility of using skills within the team to generate an income, e.g. by offering external training.
  • Contribute to consistent management of quality service delivery through the Trusted Charity Mark quality mark.
  • ADDITIONAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • SKILLS & EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
  • Proven experience of writing winning tenders in a range of formats within the Housing & Charity sector.
  • Educated to degree level with a high standard of written English.
  • Strong research and analytical skills with the ability to evaluate data, and write concise accurate reports.
  • The capacity to lead, engage, influence and communicate with stakeholders at all levels
