- Contributes to completing the maintenance of assets in line with the tram maintenance instructions.
- Provide prompt and constructive feedback on problems identified during maintenance of tram fleet and associated assets.
- Carry out root cause analysis on system failures and complete works to prevent reoccurrence.
- Complete and ensure asset management records both paper and software based are accurate and up to date.
- Record and update records on the asset management data base.
- Provide Technical support and guidance to department and business colleagues.
- Actively take part in safety workshops and briefings.
- Contributes and take part in annual identification and quantification of risks to complete the risk assessment register.
- Contribute input into the KAM safety systems.
- Ensure compliance with relevant policies, regulations, and standards.
- Engage with key stakeholders, including with internal functional areas of the business, as well as external agencies such as TfGM, Original Equipment Manufacturers and Suppliers.
- Contribute to the delivery of a high performing team through ensuring objectives, standards and key performance indicators are met.
- Contribute to building an inclusive culture, taking a zero-tolerance approach to behaviours and attitudes that go against the FREDIE culture, escalating matters to management when appropriate.
- Ensure own health, safety and wellbeing in the workplace, ensuring the zero harm principles and just culture are demonstrated in all ways of working.
- Educated to NVQ Level 3 in an engineering discipline / Advanced modern apprenticeship or equivalent experience.
- Knowledge of maintenance activities within a large multi-disciplined team.
- Knowledge of fault-finding techniques using known tools such as FMEA and root cause analysis.
- Proven experience in a large maintenance environment with a focus on safety and maintenance completion to plan.
- Experience maintaining asset management records.
- Developed maintenance skills with proven track record in a relevant discipline.
- Ability to follow instructions and excellent attention to detail.
- Ability to work within a team to deliver maintenance requirements to the capacity model.
- Ability to fault find and undertake diagnostic fault investigations.
- Good communication skills both verbally and in writing.
- Good IT skills including standard Microsoft Office software.
- A fixed-term full-time contract 37.5 hours

We currently have an exciting opportunity. We are currently recruiting for a Tram Maintenance Technician to join our Rolling Stock Engineering team within Manchester's iconic Metrolink on a two year fixed-term basis.
As a Tram Maintenance Technician, you will support in the completion of Tram maintenance requirements, ensuring KAM assets are safe, reliable and available for operation.
Working under the supervision of the Tram Maintenance Team Leader and alongside the Tram Maintenance Team, the role supports the delivery of KAM's maintenance plan by completing maintenance, corrective tasks and fault-finding activities safely and to the required standards.
