Technical R&D Project Manager - Food & Beverages

Job Description:

This job focuses on the development of leading-edge consumer relevant products and their delivery into our European markets.

It will deliver regionally relevant propositions alongside the roll-out of globally defined mixes, all aligned with consumer driversand the strategic innovation plans and tactical business demands of our European business.

This role requires close working partnership across multi disciplines: European and global R&D teams/Marketing/Supply Chain/Procurement/Finance and external Third Parties where relevant.

Main Job Purpose

Key drivers of the role:

Responsible for leading the delivery of both consumer relevant and technically viable products across the business
Supporting idea generation, creative sessions and innovation pipelining
Scope and deliver value creation ideas, including inyear and pipeline planning
Drive skill development, supporting capability building in both technical execution and trend analysis (trend/opportunity/prototype/concept)

Main accountabilities

Lead projects and the end-to-end execution of the R&D workstream as part of a cross-functional project/business team.
Design consumer relevant and technically viable formulations that deliver to project product briefings on taste, quality, cost, claims, sustainability, etc.
Oversee the successful development and delivery of products across all platforms ensuring effective and fit for purpose formulation design (e.g. chassis principles)
Assure successful implementation of formulations through technical analysis, measurement and risk assessment in preparation for factory scale-up, in hand with the Processing and Supply Chain manufacturing teams.
Drive passion for product through Knowledge Based Selling into customers, in collaboration with Marketing and Customer Development.
Oversee creation and delivery of specifications according to new raw material use and project-led formulation developments.
Drive excellence in product briefings to support effective project gatekeeping in collaboration with cross-functional partners.
Successfully partner across key multi-disciplines: Europe R&D/Global R&D/Marketing/Supply Chain/Procurement/Finance and external Third Parties where relevant.
