    Job Description


    AECOM's Manchester office has an immediate requirement for a Senior Civil Engineer to undertake technical designs and project management and drive forward various civil infrastructure related commercial and residential development projects and to help develop the Company's business.


    The Business Unit is highly multi-disciplinary comprising civil & highway, structural, mechanical, and electrical/process engineers, architects, project managers and surveyors.

    Our market sectors range from industrial development and logistics, airports, infrastructure development/regeneration and Government Agency/Local Authority projects.


    Job responsibilities:


    Reporting to the Principal / Associate Director, this role will provide support to the Team and work towards ensuring all projects are delivered to programme quality and budget.


    You will also need to develop internal team relationships and to ensure you provide support to train staff and to develop their individual skills and to encourage their personal development to promote succession planning.


    Key to this role is the ability to provide technical support to junior team members and have a client focused service which results in on-going satisfaction and repeat business.

    Qualifications


    MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:


    To be commercially aware and able to assist a team of engineers and technicians and successfully deliver projects to time, budget and quality.

    To provide wide ranging highways, drainage and associated infrastructure design to deliver multi-disciplinary developments.


    Have detailed knowledge of drainage design including piped systems, SuDS based systems familiar with storage design and computer programmes such as InfoDrainage.


    Have experience in the preparation of Contract Drawings and Specifications and the negotiation of Section 38, 278, 104 and 106 Agreements.


    To be able to produce and have knowledge in the design of highways, access roads and infrastructure of projects including the design of road geometry, earthworks, pavements, drainage and underground services.

    Assist the coaching and support of junior staff members to enable their development.


    Preferred Qualification:
    Significant experience in UK development related infrastructure engineering; likely to be from a public/private/consultancy background.

    Civil Engineering degree or equivalent. Chartered Civil Engineer or working towards Chartered status (MICE).
