    Job summary

    The post holder will work in the Pharmacy department at Darent Valley Hospital within the Pharmacy Purchasing Office and Dispensary.

    Candidates should be enthusiastic, demonstrate innovation, be able to communicate ideas clearly and effectively and must possess competent IT skills.

    Main duties of the job

    The post will be partly based within our busy purchasing office. One of your key responsibilities is to assist in the procurement of homecare medicines and to occasionally provide support in our dispensary using the automated robot and Omnicell cupboards, full training will be given. The role includes liaising with our homecare team and suppliers ordering a range of medicines and products vital in the provision of care for our homecare patients. Excellent attention to detail is pivotal to this role, efficient procurement of homecare medicines are fundamental to the maintenance of patients health and the quality of service that the pharmacy and the trust provides.

    You will be expected to support in general administrative duties as required.

    Previous experience of working in a procurement or financial processing setting is desirable and exposure to working in a healthcare setting would be an advantage.
