Role Purpose
To provide HR support and advice to a specified client group in line with the Business Plan, embracing Resourcing, Remuneration & Benefits, Organisational Design and Development, Employee Relations, Employee Development, Talent Management and HR Systems


HR Advisor - Fixed Term Contract Until 20th December 2024

Salary:
From £36,013 to £39,679

Responsibilities:


  • To develop and implement with client areas HR/People Plans with clear deliverables and measures that are aligned to the Business and HR Strategies.
  • To work with client areas to achieve their resourcing plan in line with the SOP process and business requirement.
  • To ensure the input into succession planning and talent management processes is objective and of a high standard, and the process is used proactively to identify future talent and support career development.
  • To ensure local mechanisms are effective and appropriate to encourage local involvement and positive working relationships with employees.
  • To utilise performance management and reward models and work with local managers to manage and recognise individual and team performance & contributions.
  • Assist in supporting the Management Team to achieve their organisation goals through the development and implementation of associated HR strategies and plans.
  • Engage in HR project work as appropriate, consulting with line management as appropriate developing, communicating and implementing initiatives.
  • To support client areas on IR/ER issues.
  • Interact with trade union representatives in the development of initiatives thereby building on the partnership with the local TU.
  • To assist in driving change within the organisation in consultation with managers, employee representatives and employees.
  • To provide professional HR advice and guidance on matters associated with collective agreements and HR policies / procedures.
  • Consult and communicate with Third Party Service Providers eg Recruitment Agencies, HR Service Providers etc.
  • As required, act as lead in areas such as Resourcing, Remuneration & Benefits, International Working and HR Systems.

Qualifications:

Knowledge, Skills and Experience

  • HNC/HND or relevant vocational qualification, or studying for, eg CIPD
  • Previous experience of undertaking generalist HR activity eg recruitment, remuneration & benefits, training & development, employer relations
  • Knowledge of employment law and best practice HR processes
  • Good oral, written and presentation skills
  • Well developed communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to analyse and problem solve
  • Intermediate IT skills
  • Sound planning and organisational skills
  • Good financial awareness

Decision Making Authority

  • Works within reasonably defined processes but not closely supervised unless complex or sensitive.
  • Maintains and organises own workload.
  • Will make some decisions, within scope of own work, consulting others as appropriate, but will normally refer decisions with financial implications or implications for a wider business area to line manager.
