The role is within the Institutional Credit Management (ICM), which is accountable for the management of complex, critical & large professional client credit risk, leading the New Product Approval Process within ICM.


Responsibilities:


  • Develop a detailed understanding of ICM and the Wholesale Credit Risk (WCR) Initiative program, Wholesale and Counterparty Credit Risk (WLCR / CCR) and the working of the first and second lines of defense
  • Provide leadership, governance, oversight and monitoring activities within ICM to interact with the wider New Product Approval Committee
  • Coordinate activities within ICM, Risk, and the Lines of Business to ensure any new products are comprehensively captures within our operating model, with clear roles and responsibilities defined, including the quantification and capture of the correspondingcredit risks
  • Provide reporting or analyze data across key deliverables, including the identification and remediation of issues and audit items generated from the NPA process within ICM
  • Able to influence and work with a team of professionals across different time zones and departments
  • Requires an understanding of multiple areas within the function and how they interact to achieve the objectives of the function
  • Applies indepth understanding of the business impact of technical contributions. Good commercial awareness is a necessity
  • Ensure that emerging risks identified are socialized with key stakeholders and mitigation strategies are in place
  • Identify areas of engagement based on level of investment, inherent risk, complexity of change and other risk factor
  • Execute Risk Control coverage strategy, ensure appropriate risk mitigation actions are in place and escalate to senior management as appropriate
  • Excellent communication skills required to negotiate internally, often at a senior level.

Responsibilities:

Responsibilities and priorities will reflect needs of the WCR Initiative and will evolve over time, however the following are some of the specific activities expected of this role:

  • Accountable for the successful implementation of the New Product Approval process across Institutional Credit Management (ICM)
  • Global reporting and communication of project status and risks to appropriate senior business and project managers, project reviews / health checks of the book of work, will be required across all program deliverables to support execution in accordancewith strict guidelines.
  • Supports planning, directing and coordination of daytoday activities of running a program or portfolio of programs.
  • Identifies stakeholders and key organizations and build and manage relationships.
  • Gain a good understanding of Citi PM Policies and Standards to ensure good program governance and execution.
  • Building a strong network in Citi across teams and time zones to support them completing their milestones
  • Effective communication with key stakeholders, both internal and external to the program / project, including obtaining buyin for proposals.
  • Liaison and clear communications with internal parties as required.
  • Develop and deliver presentations to ICM and other management covering project / program status and plans.
  • Analyzing, providing insight and driving execution across various project components
  • Producing information to support regulatory or audit reviews when applicable and be involved in post program reviews for key initiatives.
  • The role will require developing a deep knowledge of the key regulations and rules applicable to CCR and/or WLCR

Knowledge, Experience & Skills:


  • Relevant years of experience in Risk / the Front Office or related change management functions.
  • Knowledge and experience of wholesale and trading products, and their associated credit risk
  • Knowledge and experience of structured project management techniques in a front office environment
  • Demonstrable experience of senior involvement in high impact projects / programs as a consultant or internal change leader
  • Expertise and handson practitioner expertise in designing and implementing structured business/operational processes and associated business requirements documentation
  • Knowledge of, and experience in, analyzing legislative and regulatory texts, and associated legal analysis
  • Strong knowledge of CCR and/ or WLCR management and regulations.
  • Understanding of credit risk best practice and regulatory requirements.
  • Ability to review and provide concise/impactful insight into meeting regulatory remediation needs.
  • Experience of managing one or multiple teams, including management of people, budget and team planning, to include performance evaluation, compensation, hiring, and disciplinary actions and terminations is a plus.
  • Knowledge of credit risk RWA or Stress Testing is a plus

Education:


  • Strong, appropriate industry knowledge & delivery track record is essential.
