    We are currently looking for a Band 6 Occupational Therapist to join the Younger Adult occupational therapy Inpatient team at St Martin's Hospital. You will lead up an occupational therapy team on one of our wards, being part of the MDT, supporting & developing therapeutic interventions and providing occupational therapy assessment and treatment.

    This is an exciting time as we move forward with a new integrated ward model promoting therapeutic interventions, supporting recovery and improving patient experience.

    Occupational therapy is valued as a core part of the MDT and the post holder will be working in a team with a variety of professionals. There is opportunity to develop skills in occupational therapy as well as wider team functions.

    The right candidate should be able to support junior team members and take a lead in the management of the occupational therapy work across the team with other band 6 colleagues and the OT clinical lead.

    Main duties of the job

    We are looking for an occupational therapist with experience, skills and an interest in working with service users who have complex mental health needs on an inpatient setting. You must have some experience of working with mental health service users as a qualified practitioner. We are looking for a practitioner with good communication and liaison skills who is forward thinking and enthusiastic regarding innovative ways of working.

    You will be part of a group of occupational therapists within the larger team and will be supported by a lead occupational therapist. You will also have the opportunity to provide supervision and support to junior occupational therapy staff as well as support workers.
