Maths Teacher

Annual Salary: Competitive (based on experience)

Job Type: Full-time, Permanent opportunity

Reed Education is working with an independent SEN school in Lewes to find a dedicated and experienced Maths Teacher to join their well-established team from September 2024. This role is ideal for a candidate with a strong background in SEN and a passion for nurturing and supporting young individuals with mild learning difficulties and associated behavioural challenges.

Day-to-day of the role:

Deliver engaging Maths lessons and occasionally cover other subjects as required.
Create a supportive and inclusive classroom environment that caters to the individual needs of students with mild learning difficulties and emotional/social issues.
Employ effective classroom management strategies to handle challenging behaviours calmly and successfully.
Collaborate with other staff members to plan and coordinate lessons and activities.
Monitor and assess student progress, adapting teaching methods to suit different learning styles.
Provide regular feedback to students, parents, and guardians to support student development.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

SEN teaching experience, with Maths as the main subject expertise.
Ability to manage and teach students with challenging behaviours and special educational needs.
Minimum of five years' experience in special needs education is preferred.
Physical fitness and empathy towards young people.
Must have entitlement to work in the UK.
Provide proof of address and a DBS on the update service.
Able to supply 2 years' worth of references.
