    Responsibilities
    Weatherford has an exciting opportunity for an experienced IWS (Intelligent Well Systems) Specialist (Fiber Optics) to join the team at our Aberdeen Altens Facility. This role involves hands-on work such as building and maintaining fiber optic tools for the oil and gas industry, including downhole cables and gauges. The IWS Specialist will work in a supportive and inclusive team within a fast-paced and progressive environment.     • Roles & Responsibilities:
    • SAFETY, SECURITY & COMPLIANCE
      • Maintain high ethical standards and compliance with Company policies, Security, Compliance & HSE, laws, regulations, and industry practices.
      • Prioritize Quality, Health & Safety, Security, and Environmental protection while ensuring no harm to employees, processes, customers, or communities.
      • Drive continuous improvement in Health, Safety, Security & Environment considering responsible care, process vulnerabilities, customer feedback, and best practices.
    • QUALITY
      • Familiarize with the Company's Quality policies and contribute to compliance and enhancement of Weatherford's Management System.
      • Emphasize service quality and seek areas for enhancement.
    • OPERATIONS
      • Oversee daily operations of the fiber optic workshop, stores, and field service equipment.
      • Ensure Safety, Integrity, and Security of all equipment, and handle technical receptions, factory tests, and documentation.
      • Provide support for offshore activities when required.
    • COMMUNICATION
      • Maintain effective internal and external communications.
      • Collaborate with supervisors and manufacturing to assess the quality of fiber optic systems.
    • FINANCIAL
      • Follow financial policies and procedures, stay within approved budgets, and process expenses timely.
    • PEOPLE & DEVELOPMENT
      • Take charge of personal development by completing necessary training and engaging with managers to enhance skills and performance.
      • Supervise employees, encourage talent management, and collaborate with HR for recruitment and retention strategies.
    • VISION & LEADERSHIP
      • Demonstrate leadership, ethical behavior, and adherence to Weatherford standards consistently.


    Qualifications
    • Required:
    • Three years experience in fiber optics activities.
    • Strong technical background and communication skills.
    • Positive attitude, teamwork, and problem-solving skills.
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and multitasking ability.
    • Physically fit to work in workshop and offshore environments.
    • Preferred:
    • Three years experience in oilfield activities.
    • HNC/HND or equivalent in relevant studies.
    • Prior experience with software and hardware installations on Surface Computer Systems.
