- Design, implement and maintain operational storage and backup performance of large-scale Windows and Unix /Linux Server environments in order to meet contractual service levels and agreed Project time frames.
- A highly visible role providing design, support and troubleshooting services on multiple projects at the same time.
- Storage and Backup Project design, implementation and system administration.
- Ability to mentor technical staff and partners to troubleshoot complex server environments and situations.
- Comprehensive and demonstratable Backup and Recovery troubleshooting ability.
- Work as part of a multiskilled team and Project Management delivering Cloud and Platform Projects for a variety of customers.
- Work independently and with other teams, project managers, customers and vendors.
- Ability to articulate and document backup strategies and technologies.
- Implementation of Backup and Restore elements across a broad range of systems including installation, configuration and upgrades.
- Provide technical expertise and guidance working closely with technical architects and customers in all areas of data protection.
- Provide L3 support to BAU teams in resolving complex issues, restoring data and performance tuning.
- Write and maintain required technical documentation.
- Expertise with Dell EMC Data Protection products: Networker, Data Domain, Avamar, Data Protection Advisor
- Expertise with 3PAR, XP7, Nimble, NetApp and Netbackup
- A comprehensive understanding of EMC SAN Storage and networking technologies
- Experience of Unix, Linux, Windows and VMWare platforms
- Knowledge of Dell EMC storage: Isilon, Unity, Recoverpoint
- Knowledge of other backup and storage products: Networker, Commvault, Veeam, Data Protector
- Knowledge of cloud technologies: AWS, Google Cloud, MS Azure and Oracle
- Virtualization (VMware, Solaris Zones and Containers)
- Storage Management Tools – SSMC, IMC, NetApp On-Command System Manager.
- SAN Switch/Fabric Management Tools – DCNM, Fabric Manager, Device Manager.
- Experience troubleshooting complex incidents and problems associated to storage and backup environments and related applications.
- Experience maintaining high availability storage sub-systems capacity and configuration.
- Strong technical knowledge of physical and virtual servers, operating systems and network infrastructures are highly desirable.
