About the role
The post of Research Technician / Biobank Assistant, funded by the Cancer Biomarker Centre, will support the day to day running of the Biobank, whilst also providing digital pathology (slide scanning) and clinical sample processing services within the CBC and PTTP. The post holder will be responsible for managing ethical applications to the Biobank and for maintaining communication with active biobank research teams. Other responsibilities will include retrieval, tracking, storage, and release of human tissues for research, scanning/ digitising histopathology slides, and processing a range of translational and clinical research samples.

About you
The successful candidate will have excellent communication and organizational skills and will be able to work to applicable legislation around use of human tissues and clinical research.
The successful candidate must have a BSc in Biomedical Science or similar and experience working in a research laboratory and data management.
You must have the ability to follow SOPs or written work instructions and to maintain complete and accurate records and to work flexibly to adapt to changing priorities
Experience in administrative support in relation to HTA research projects and experience working with confidential data are desirable but not essential.
