    The Opportunity:

    Finatal are partnering with a dynamic and rapidly expanding Business Services organization based in the vibrant hub of East London. With significant investment from a high reputable PE fund, the company is poised for impressive growth, through strategic M&A activities in the foreseeable future. Following this private equity investment, the business is looking to recruit new talent to join their dynamic finance team.

    The Opportunity:

    We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Financial Controller to join our team and play a pivotal role in our growth journey. The ideal candidate will be a qualified finance professional with a robust technical background, capable of leading our finance team through a period of transformation and expansion.

    • Financial Reporting: Preparing and publishing timely monthly financial statements; Responsible for month end reporting timetable and managing month end close process in accordance with the agreed timetable.
    • Accounting: Manage all accounting operations including Billing, A/R, A/P, GL, WIP Accounting and Revenue Recognition (based on information prepared by the Business Partner). Preparation of payroll journals for month end and other ad-hoc tasks e.g. Survey data, Partner Current Account
    • Risk Management: Identify potential financial risks and opportunities e.g. fraud, financial misstatements, offering mitigation strategies and internal controls to safeguard the company's financial health. Maintenance of strong financial controls. Approval of payments in line with Gravita Roles and Responsibility Matrix.
    • Audit and Taxation: Oversight of preparation (by Group Accountant) of financial statements and all accompanying files in order to support annual audit, liaise with audit team on the ground in order to ensure that the audit is completed in a timely and efficient manner. Coordinate and oversee tax compliance and reporting activities (prepared by Group Accountant)
    • Transformation: Implementing best in class tools and processes across the entire business e.g. AP, billing and collection, expenses automation. Identifying improvements in processes in order to accelerate the reporting timetable and drive efficiency within the team.
    • Process: Implement standardized finance processes across the Gravita business.
    • Team Leadership and Development: Supervise and mentor a team of finance professionals, fostering their growth and development. Foster a culture of accountability, teamwork, and continuous improvement within the finance department. Ensure team are adequately trained.

    The Requirements:

    • CIMA, ACCA or ACA Qualified with five years post qualified experience
    • Advanced Excel Skills
    • Ideally prior experience in a PE environment
    • Taking a data driven approach to everything;
    • A real aptitude for working with numbers;
    • Excellent ability to make informed decisions; and
    • Confident communication and presentation skills.
