Castle Combe Circuit has been welcoming fans of racing, car shows and a variety of other events for over 70 years.

Based in the beautiful county of Wiltshire, we provide easy access to anyone in the South-West but also welcome a broad range of visitors fromacross the UK.


As a circuit we promote car and motorbike racing and even cycling events as well as action days; however, our range of events does not stop there.

Our team co-ordinate a host of other events ranging from car boot sales to Steam Rallies and other fun experiences.


The last few years have seen many changes in the motor, events and hospitality industries, and Castle Combe Circuit wants to embrace these changes.

Castle Combe is currently reshaping the way we work with the exciting brand and commercial development witha focused future vision plan for the circuit.

Therefore, to take us forward, we have an exciting opportunity for a Operations Manager to join us and help lead the business into the future.


The role


The Operations Manager will be responsible for ensuring the seamless operations of Castle Combe's ground maintenance, catering, health and safety, and security.


You will provide operational management and expertise to develop and implement standard operating procedures and clearly defined activities needed to make the business run smoothly and successfully, and to ensure we adhere to all the necessary quality andcompliance standards, in areas such as risk and safety.

You will report to and support the General Manager.


Core duties

  • Develop and implement department quality control measures.
  • Develop and implement procedures and protocols.
  • Develop action plans clearly setting out operational activities for the short, medium and long term.
  • Communicate and coordinate with teams, employees and suppliers.
  • Monitor and oversee daytoday activities and report on performance and recommend actionable improvements where necessary.
  • Make decisions and solve technical problems to provide a safe and efficient environment.
  • Create a positive, continuous improvement working environment and ensure objectives are met.
  • Onboard and train new employees to ensure they adhere to standard operating procedures.
  • Oversee inventories, manage budgets and report cost plans to the General Manager.
  • Line manage employees within the ground maintenance crew and catering team and developing your own and the team's technical acumen.
  • Manage contractual arrangements with Health & Safety, Security and Medical vendors.
  • Successfully managing teams of people.
  • Experience of managing operations associated with major outdoor events across a large estate.
  • Proven planning and organisation skills.
  • Developing and implementing procedures and protocols (not just following procedures and protocols already in place).
  • Strong operational and financial acumen.
  • Committed to compliance and safety.
  • Ability to build consensus and relationships between managers, employees and vendors.
  • Strong communication skills both written and oral.

Qualifications
Degree or equivalent in Operational Management, Business Administration nor related field.

NEBOSH qualifications

Strong IT skills


Working hours
Your normal hours will be 9.00 am to 5.30 pm, Monday to Friday.

However we do operate 7 days a week with the majority of our events taking place over Spring, Summer and Autumn.

This means you will be expected to work some weekends and additional hours inline with operational needs.
