- Design, implement, and maintain the site's Quality Management System to ensure the production of safe, legal food at the expected quality level.
- Ensure the establishment of robust processes to meet Pilgrims and customer standards, codes of practice, and third-party assurance schemes.
- Lead the Internal audit program to check compliance with food safety, quality, and animal welfare standards.
- Promote a Food Safety & Quality Culture within the site through various activities.
- Take on the role of Technical Manager when necessary.
- Create customer technical specifications, manage technical information systems, and provide technical expertise and support.
- Conduct risk assessments for products and processes to maintain high standards.
- Participate in the HACCP & TACCP team and OPEX meetings.
- Represent the site for pest management to minimize pest-related risks.
- Knowledge of GFSI Food Assurance standards like BRCGS or ISO22000.
- Understanding of Retailer Food Safety, Welfare, and Product Integrity standards.
- Experience in HACCP, VACCP, and TACCP risk assessments.
- Familiarity with 3rd party audit processes.
- Dealt with major retailers and manufacturing groups.
- Excellent organization and planning abilities.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficiency in PC applications including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
