    Description

    An opportunity has arisen to join the Chief Information Officer's (CIO's) group as a Modern Workspace Architect. Reporting to the Service Assurance Manager you will be accountable for the development and maintenance of the roadmap for the modernisation of our desktop environment, including cloud-based productivity tools, collaboration platforms, security solutions, and device management. We are looking for a customer-centric and agile mindset, with the ability to adapt to changing business needs and deliver value quickly and effectively.

    Key Responsibilities:

    Define and implement standards, policies, and best practices for the design, deployment, and support of our digital workplace platforms and tools.

    • with business stakeholders, IT teams, and external partners to identify user needs, evaluate new technologies, and deliver innovative solutions that enhance user experience and productivity.
    • with a team of technical specialists and vendors who provide end-to-end support for our desktop infrastructure, ensuring high availability, performance, and customer satisfaction.
    • and report on the usage, adoption, and satisfaction of our digital workplace platforms and tools, and proactively identify opportunities for improvement and optimisation.
    • compliance with regulatory requirements, data protection, and security policies for our desktop environment.
    • communicate complex technical concepts to business stakeholders and non-technical users.
    • closely with various teams including IT, HR, and business units to ensure alignment and adoption of new technologies.
    • informed about organisational goals and objectives and translate them into actionable workspace solutions.

    Knowledge, Skills & Behaviours:

    Proven experience in managing desktop environments and designing and delivering digital workplace solutions, preferably in a complex organisation. (e.g., Microsoft 365, collaboration tools, cloud platforms).

    Demonstrated knowledge and expertise in Microsoft 365, Azure AD, Windows 10, Intune, Teams, SharePoint, OneDrive, and other cloud-based productivity and collaboration tools.

    Experience in designing and deploying desktop security solutions, such as antivirus, encryption, multifactor authentication, and conditional access.

    Ability to support both Microsoft and Apple end-user estates.

    Strong understanding of security best practices and compliance requirements.

    Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate with diverse stakeholders.

    Passion for innovation and keeping up with the latest technology trends.

    Desired Skills:

    Experience with project management methodologies with a knowledge of IT infrastructure and network architecture.

    Trained in or experience of working in both an ITIL v4 service environment, and with teams who have adopted agile methodologies.

    Experience with scripting and automation tools and UX design principles.
