    The Partnerships Team works closely with the Communications Team in the Partnership and Communications Unit.� The Partnerships Team provides three main functions: Regional Outreach, Stakeholder Engagement and Partnerships Development.� The team has three SEO Managers responsible for Stakeholder Engagement and Regional Outreach who will be expected to lead their teams and deliver against each of these three strands of work.

    This role will require the Stakeholder Engagement Manager to play an active part in developing a cohesive team approach to support the effective delivery of both regional and national stakeholder engagement activity through the network of Regional Outreach Advisers, Stakeholder Engagement Advisers and Partnerships Development Adviser. This provides advice, support, and information to a broad range of regionally focused stakeholders from grass roots through to developing collaborative partnerships with national and sector-based organisations, building trust, and developing DBS influence across the safeguarding and employment landscape to enable DBS to achieve its strategic objectives.�

    The post holder will work closely with the Head of Partnerships, the SEO Managers in the Partnerships Team, and colleagues across DBS, including those in our commercial marketing team, to identify new and existing engagement opportunities and ensure that external engagement activity is coordinated and consistent with corporate messaging.� The post holder will need to be able to identify synergies between partnerships, national, sector-focused, and regional outreach activity to identify and maximise opportunities to develop trust and influence with partners and stakeholders. This will also include the Annual DBS Conference and other external events.

    The post will have line management responsibility for up to 10 staff which may include a combination of the following roles:

  • Regional Outreach Advisers (HEO)
  • Stakeholder Engagement Advisers (HEO)
  • Regional Outreach Advisers (HEO)
  • Partnerships Development Adviser (HEO)
  • Events Officer (EO)
  • The post holder will work closely with other SEOs in the Partnership Team, the Unit and wider Directorate.

    The post holder will:

  • Lead on Regional Outreach, Stakeholder Engagement and/or Partnerships Development, working across the three functions, directly line managing the HEOs in the team, ensuring an effective service is delivered for DBS and external customers, and quality assuring outputs to drive high standards.
  • Develop and implement effective, outcome focused engagement plans and assure delivery providing regular reports against progress and early identification, resolution or escalation of risks and issues.
  • Develop the DBS approach to understanding the stakeholder experience and work through established/new relationships to gather insight and deliver improvements.
  • Develop and implement a tiered Regional Outreach/External Engagement approach using stakeholder mapping to identify opportunities to promote, educate and influence aligned to DBS priorities, aims and objectives
  • Develop and implement a national and sector focused engagement approach which is aligned with the Partnership Development approach to ensure that partnerships, national and sector focused engagement activities maximise DBS opportunities to promote, educate and influence aligned to DBS priorities, aims and objectives
  • Provide advice, guidance, and support to colleagues (including the Senior Leadership Team) on developing, conducting and managing effective stakeholder engagement including facilitation of training to support embedding the principles of effective stakeholder engagement and Partnerships.
  • Manage and oversee the recording, management, and analysis of Regional Outreach activity across DBS working with the Research Team to demonstrate a return of investment through measurable outcomes.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues across DBS to ensure that stakeholder and customer experience and insight is reflected in Regional Outreach activity to drive improvements in quality and enable DBS to play an influential role in the environment in which it operates.
  • To drive change and deliver targeted engagement for partners, stakeholders, and customers, identifying and addressing gaps and building a proactive and outward facing approach to engagement.
  • Ensure corporate engagement materials are developed and maintained in collaboration with the Communications Team, colleagues and stakeholders using a variety of products, channels and approaches informed by insight and intelligence.
  • Support the development and delivery of the DBS Annual Conference and other significant external stakeholder and partner events.
  • Support and contribute to the delivery of a national events programme to raise the profile and awareness of DBS and its products and services, build trust in DBS and increase its influence on the environment in which it operates.�
  • Corporate Duties:

    �Supporting the Head of Partnerships in their role as a member of the Directorate Leadership Team (DLT).

    To work with senior managers and support DBS directorates to embed the principles of effective Partnerships and Stakeholder Engagement.

    Essential Criteria:

    Ability:

  • Demonstrable experience of developing and leading teams; setting and delivering against key outcomes and experience of managing improved team and individual performance.
  • Ability to develop and maintain effective relationships with stakeholders, maximising the opportunities to achieve organisational objectives.
  • Ability to improve the organisations profile; ensuring it is highly valued within the safeguarding arena
  • Strong ambassadorial skills with the ability to instil confidence and trust to develop relationships internally and externally and explain DBS products and services simply and clearly
  • Persuasive, strong, and skilled communicator verbally and in writing; able to work with external stakeholders to establish new ways of working
  • Ability to work under pressure and to tight deadlines and to work flexibly to meet the needs of the service
  • Excellent leadership skills, with experience of leading and influencing others (beyond line management responsibility) to deliver strategic objectives within and across organisations.
  • A collaborative approach to working with a range of partners and stakeholders, developing networks and using them to support organisational objectives.
  • Strong communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work with internal and external partners to establish new ways of working to secure mutually beneficial outcomes.
  • Experience:
  • Minimum of three years� experience working in a stakeholder engagement environment, experience of advising senior leaders on effective engagement and partnership development
  • Minimum of three years� experience working with stakeholders and/or customers, ideally at a senior level in both the public and private sectors.
  • Technical:

    Demonstrable ability to develop and deliver high profile tailored events to raise awareness and promote the use and understanding of an organisation�s products and services.

    Desirable Criteria:

  • Experience of delivering tiered stakeholder management to effectively inform strategy, policy, and operational delivery
  • An understanding of the legislation relevant to DBS.
  • Knowledge of the safeguarding and/or employment sector.
  • Educated to degree level or with equivalent experience.
