    Mechanical Technician


    Job Type:
    Full-time


    Salary:
    £45000 -£47000We are seeking a Mechanical Technician who is dedicated to maintaining a safe working environment and has a strong grounding in mechanical engineering. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the assembly, dismantling, inspection, repair, and testing of mechanical equipment, ensuring the smooth operation of our manufacturing processes.
    Apply specialist craft skills for the maintenance and repair of mechanical equipment.
    Interpret construction drawings, designs, and system schematics to evaluate equipment performance and diagnose malfunctions.
    Perform breakdown and planned maintenance tasks safely and efficiently.
    Receive and execute instructions for project and maintenance work from supervisors and engineers.
    Support a reliability-centred maintenance approach for major process assets.
    Manage product quality issues during maintenance and improvement works.
    Assist in process control and quality improvement initiatives.
    Contribute to the training and development of team members and apprentices.
    Time-served apprenticeship in mechanical/multiskilled maintenance.
    NVQ level 3 or City and Guilds in mechanical maintenance.
    Proficiency in general fitting, welding, machining, construction, installation, and maintenance techniques.
    Computer literacy, ideally conversant in the use of CMMS and basic office software.
    RCM formal training and experience.
    Leadership skills and heavy engineering experience.
    Hydraulic and pneumatic formal training and experience.
