The post holder will train in either upper or lower gastrointestinal endoscopy, the modality will be decided at interview. We currently have a team of seven clinical endoscopists and we are looking for someone who is enthusiastic and motivated to join our team. As a team we run a number of services including the PEG service, Barrett's oesophagus and surveillance endoscopy. We work closely with the clinical team and have a mentorship and robust induction programme.

The Endoscopy service consists of 8 rooms across both Hull Royal Infirmary and Castle Hill Hospital. We are expanding our service to up to 11 rooms; an exciting state of the art Endoscopy building has started. This is a leading development in endoscopy services and one of the largest in the country. The post holder will be required to work across both sites.

The post will commence on a training programme as a band 6 with a band 7 upon successful completion of training.

    Main duties of the job

The post holder will provide an expert specialist nursing service for patients who required upper and lower endoscopy procedures. The role includes acting as a specialist resource in developing practice on the endoscopy unit in order to maintain appropriate clinical standards and accreditation. The post holder will work with the Multi Disciplinary Team (MDT) to develop/ review Endoscopy policies and guidelines. They will audit the delivery of Endoscopy procedures/outcomes and mortality. The post holder will work across all Trust sites to deliver expert care.

    Working for our organisation

The Humber Health Partnership is one of the largest acute and community Partnership arrangements in the NHS, seeing well over one million patients every year and managing a budget of over £1.3 billion.

Made up of two Trusts - Northern Lincolnshire and Goole NHS Foundation Trust (NLAG) and Hull University Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust (HUTH) - our Partnership has significant ambitions and is committed to delivering world-class hospital and community services for the 1.65 million people we serve.

Together we employ nearly 20,000 staff. Our five main hospital sites are Diana, Princess of Wales Hospital, Scunthorpe General Hospital and Goole and District Hospital, for NLAG and Hull Royal Infirmary and Castle Hill Hospital for HUTH.

As Teaching Hospitals working with the Hull York Medical School, we both lead and contribute to research in many areas - biomedical research, primary care, palliative medicine, cardiovascular and respiratory medicine, vascular surgery, cancer surgery and oncology.
