    Description

Manchester Hospital School works to ensure that any child who is unable to attend their own school due to ill health can continue to make progress in their education and to experience success.

We work with children of all ages and abilities and operate across a number of sites including Royal Manchester Children's Hospital (RMCH), University Hospital of South Manchester, Leo Kelly School and the Christie NHS Foundation Trust. We also offer home tuition to children who cannot attend either their own school or any of our locations.

We are a school like no other: a place where you can make a real difference to the lives of children and families during a period where they need it the most. It is incredibly rewarding work.

We now have an opportunity for a talented Art Teacher to join our team. You will predominantly be teaching children in our hospital sites, but you may also undertake some lessons in children's homes and in other community settings in the Manchester area.

Because of the unique nature of our school we encourage applications from teachers working in a Secondary or Special School setting: either of these would be a relevant professional background. However, staff need to be able to plan for SEND learners and plan bespoke timetables for individual pupils.

Wherever you are currently, it's your commitment to delivering high quality and personalised teaching that will identify you as a strong candidate to join our team.

It's important that you bring a flexible and practically-minded approach to your work. It's possible that you will work across more than one of our sites in any given week and you can expect to teach in a range of settings e.g. working with groups or on a one-to-one basis. The ability to think creatively and adapt to different learning environments will be key.

Please note that this role is offered as a one year fixed-term contract.

This role is anticipated to be a full-time appointment, but we will consider part-time arrangements for the best candidates.

All our teaching roles are offered at Main to Upper Pay Scales with SEN point.
