This firm has several offices across the Devon area, offering an extensive legal service to businesses and individuals both locally and nationally. They are recognised as the leading law firm for several niche sectors and acting for trade associations puts them at the cutting edge of legal developments affecting those businesses.

On behalf of our client we are seeking to recruit a newly qualified Solicitor or Legal Executive to assist in their Dispute Resolution team with a range of commercial and civil litigation cases. The team acts for businesses, charities, institutions, and high net worth individuals up and down the country on a broad range of litigation matters. They act in a variety of specialist sectors and markets.

You will be assisting the partners and senior lawyers on a range of litigation matters with a focus on disputed wills and trusts as well as other work types such as property and commercial litigation.

Lawyers are encouraged to develop a specialism and to develop their own niche in a chosen area of law. You will have day to day conduct of files, and you will be assisted in building a caseload and develop your skills as a litigator.

You can expect to have exposure to a broad range of matters for a variety of clients. You can expect to be part of a committed and friendly team who will help you develop your skills as a lawyer.

The team works flexibly but meets regularly for training and general team building. Our client is happy to discuss flexible working arrangements although initially you will be office-based in Exeter to help you familiarise yourself with the team, the work, and the support available to you.

In time, you can expect to be given the freedom to develop your work and reputation in the local community and wider and to be involved in our various charitable and profile-raising activities.

You will be a good communicator, enjoy working as part of a team and will be as committed to delivering the highest standards of client care.

You will be a newly qualified solicitor or Legal Executive with around 0 – 3 years PQE and have a practical, proactive approach to resolving disputes. Ideally, you will have some experience of contentious trusts and probate although this is not essential.
