Job summary:


An exciting new post for Clinical Education Lead at Solihull Community Podiatry has been created to strategically support the education, recruitment and retention needs of Podiatry.

You will be required to maintain a speciality such as, but not limited to; High Risk Podiatry (Vascular and Diabetes).

You will use the acquired specialist knowledge and skills to oversee and provide clinical education to a wide range of medical and non-medical registered and non-registered staff throughout the department.


The post holder will construct, lead, oversee and deliver training and assessment in a range of core technical and non-technical skills that are integral to podiatry.


Working autonomously, the post holder will ensure a coordinated approach that will both recognise and minimise the associated risks in relation to the use of various core clinical skills, complying with local and national guidelines and protocols.

The post holder will also ensure standardisation of clinical skills and simulation training provision across the wider trust.

This is a part time post of 15hours (0.4WTE).

Main duties, tasks & skills required:

You will be expected to support the expansion of the podiatry apprenticeship programme, provision and expansion of podiatry placements for undergraduate students, as well as maintain the education needs of the team with service development and delivery in mind.

Ensuring a well-rounded service developed in line with the trust's vision.


You will liaise with other clinical educators within the trust to provide appropriate training to internal and external shareholders (eg GP practices) based on current treatment and trends.

They will utilise the team's strengths to support the provision of continuing professional development.

Qualifications:


Essential:


  • Recognised Clinical professional registration (HCPC) qualifications
BSc in health related field or evidence of working at this level

Maintained relevant CPD activity of a minimum 35 hours in the past 3 years


Experience:


Essential:

Relevant post registration experience in Podiatry

Planning and management skills

Ability to audit & monitor standards

Evidence of supporting and training others in the clinical environment

Participating in and implementing change

Delivery of formal and informal teaching sessions

Understanding of the regulation of healthcare and education

Evidence of reviewing policies, procedures and operational improvement and development

Ability to populate and use excel and other IT systems
